My son and daughter-in-law decided to have a Halloween party last Sat. night. We couldn't
decide if we wanted to go or not, but then they called again and mentioned all the great food that was prepared so hubby caved and said it was a tough way to get a meal but he was in.
He wore his hunting gear even his turkey mask..as if any self respecting turkey would think a two hundred thirty pound man with a feathered hat and goofy face mask could possibly be a mate for him. I wore a monks robe, cross and cowl with devil horns and tail...the old good and evil.
The other costumes were a riot...two priests, a nun, a surgeon and his "hot" surgical nurse, three flappers, two pirates, a "little person" standing on a box, wolf man, three cowgirls and two cowboys, a private school girl and a football hero, the cat in the hat, red riding hood, confuses,
beauty and the geek, a huge "Jesus" and so many more I can't remember.
The food awesome too, pasta salad and tiny meatballs, so many dips and kinds of chips and crackers, cold cuts and cheese trays, all kinds of hot and cold finger foods, calzones and pizzas,
egg rolls and crab rangoon, salads and dipping sauces and cakes, cookies, cupcakes and brownies...hubby ate and ate to his hearts content...all sorts of blender drinks, beers, wine etc.
Even though its Sunday morning and I just had ham and eggs I'm making myself hungry again.
We had all sorts of games planned but people started dancing and their band didn't even play. We got to talk to people we had not seen in years...about fifty or sixty people showed up and it was even more fun than expected. They have a huge house so it never seemed crowded except around the food, spread out on the granite island in the middle of the kitchen. I had not been to a good costume party in about ten years so I really enjoyed it.
Next time....your all invited....
